PM Narendra Modi inaugurated Bharat Drone Mahotsav 2022, India's biggest drone festival, held at Pragati Maidaan on May 27-28. Drones have fundamentally impacted the way we see and perceive our environment through their multiple uses. The people of Delhi had the chance to observe the latest drone festival through the crammed exhibition. The prime minister communicated with the drone pilots of Kisan and start-ups in the drone exhibition center, he also attended open-air drone demonstrations.
The exhibition showcased the latest drone innovation technology from various national and international makers. The event was planned to encourage the widespread use of drones in various businesses.
Over 1600 delegates, including government officials, armed forces, central armed police forces, public sector units (PSU), foreign diplomats, private companies as well as new drone start-ups, etc had participated in the Bharat Drone Mahotsav 2022. The PMO pointed out that more than 70 exhibitors of the Drone Festival presented different use cases of drones. Bharat Drone Mahotsav 2022 also witnessed a virtual honor of drone pilot certificates, panel discussions, product launches, a display of Made in India drone taxi model, and flying presentations.
The celebration comes amongst central government efforts for the widespread use of drones in various fields, including agriculture. Scindia stated that the overall cost of drone pilot training courses will decrease over the next 3-4 months as more organizations will get the necessary certifications from the aviation regulatory body.
Previously, the civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurated a drone experience studio at the state-run think tank NITI Aayog, where he revealed two schemes - Shakti Drone and Kisan Drone. New government regulations for Kisan Drone have given some incentives to farmers and associations, similar to the commercial use of drones.
